Job offer

I didn’t expect to hear back from Willis Towers Watson so soon. I anticipated that there would be a few days, even a couple of weeks, before they made a decision. I was surprised when my phone rang by 9:15. Melanie told me that the feedback to that point was “overwhelmingly positive” and that she expected to give me an update later in the day after she had spoken with the last of the relevant managers. By 11:00 she had called and extended the offer from Joshua Kirk (one of the four who interviewed me yesterday). I was slightly disappointed that a good chunk of my desired salary was tied up in an annual bonus and after looking at their benefits package I asked for a slightly better offer but by the end of the day we had come to an agreement. Unfortunately I was unable to talk to Steve Snow before my day ended so I still need to talk about an exit date/plan with him and tell Melanie when I can start. WTW will need a couple of weeks to do the background check and requisition the equipment I will need to be productive.

I’m excited for the new avenues of professional growth that this opens up for me.

Somewhere in there I will also take time between jobs to stay home and finish our corner bedroom.
