Alma 3:25
The fifth year of he reign of the judges was a busy year for the people of Nephi. Amlici gained enough popularity to cause a vote on whether he should be king, but not enough popularity to win the vote. He then incited his followers who crowned him king and went to war against the Nephites. They joined an army of Lamanites and were defeated and Amlici was killed. Before they could catch their breath, the Nephites had to drive a second Lamanite army from their land. Thus story will be repeated for the Nephites many times in the Book of Alma.
