Alma 1:15
Before he was put to death, Nehor acknowledged that what he had taught was contrary to the will of God. It is not very surprising to learn that Alma’s judgement did not stem the tide of preiestcrafts in the land. Many were filled with pride and a desire for done thugs such that they would teach vain and false doctrines in order to gain riches and honor. Alma’s judgement made it clear that the law did not allow for a punishment for priestcraft. Nehor had been punished for the crime of murder and censured for the evil of priestcraft.
