Alma 1:9
Nehor was a very proud man. It was because of his pride that he reacted with anger when Gideon withstood him and admonished him with the word of God. If Gideon had merely ignored him, Nehor would not have been so wroth, but when he was confronted and confounded with the truth, he resorted to killing an old man who had done much for the people. When the people of the church learned of the murder of Gideon, they took Nehor before Alma, as the cheif priest, to be judged according to he crime he commmitted.
