Fractured society

I have often wondered if our society will ever fracture the way the Nephite society did shortly before the death of Christ. Part of me thinks we eventually will but I’m fully confident that we could – the potential is there because if so much unrighteousness and distrust. We could break into a federation of states. We could split into ideologically homogeneous groups. We could break into organic communities or insular clans based on familial ties. Currently the general trend is to be fractured into groups so small that few of them can be self sustaining.
