Christ was not to judge after the sight of His eyes nor reprove after the hearing of His ears. Instead he would judge with righteousness and reprove with equity. I know how often I judge based on how things appear or reprove based on how they sound and yet there are times when my judgement and reproof are fundamentally different – when my judgement is based on what is true rather than on how things appear and when my reproof is equitable rather than concentrated on whoever was made to sound most guilty in the situation. I need to strive for that consistently.
