1 Nephi 14: 1 – 9
Nephi writes the promise of the Lord to the Gentiles of our day.
If we hearken unto Christ He will manifest himself in word, in power, and in deed unto the taking away of our stumbling blocks. If we harden not our hearts we will be numbered among the house of Israel.
Christ promises to work a marvelous work which will be everlasting one way or the other. Either we hearken and find peace, happiness, and direction, or we ignore it and we are forever left with hard hearts and blind minds.
Possibly like starving people He offers food. We can accept and be satisfied or we can reject and remain hungry. He leaves the choice up to us. If we starve it is our fault. That’s like life. We sometimes think that if we do good we will have no trials. Really life is like climbing a mountain. The trials are everywhere. No matter where you go you will have them, but when you are headed towards the destination your path will be in the light so you can see. If you always stay in the light you will still have trials but the way will be lit and some obstacles will be avoided.
