After three days at me staying home at least part of the time, I got back to a regular schedule today and Laura took over the new normal schedule of getting the kids out the door including driving Enoch to school.
At work there were big changes too as first thing in the morning I heard that Rob was being fired. The official announcement came a couple of hours later to the whole infrastructure team but there was no mention of exactly why he was let go. Phil out time we’ll when he said that Rob was rough around the edges but more than many other people he worked hard. Who knows if it was too many cumulative mistakes, taking a fall for some significant recent problems in the system (with his fingerprints) or something else. We are likely to feel the loss of one of our more productive engineers for a long time.
I hope Rob doesn’t take it too hard since he apparently has no family to support or to be encouraged by. At least he still has his second job to fall back on so financially he should be able to weather this.
