All together again

Our family reunification is complete. We still have healing and room for improvement but we now look like a normal family of ten. Yesterday Enoch asked yet again if he could transfer to Deerfield. Although his stated reasons had not changed significantly we were smart enough to realize that his desire was genuine and not fleeting. We agreed to investigate the options and I emailed his teacher at Freedom, the Assistant Principal over 3rd grade at Freedom, and the Principal at Deerfield to have them weigh in on the idea – including Enoch’s preferred timeline of starting with the end of Christmas break. I expected that there would be some negotiation but everyone agreed that Enoch could perform very well at Deerfield as he has been at Freedom and that we should do whatever was best for the family. Ms. Knadler at Deerfield went so far as to tell us that if he wanted to start when school resumed after the break that we should come to the school today to register him before everyone left for Christmas break tomorrow.

Laura went over and got Enoch and Ezra both registered at Deerfield so all 5 elementary school kids will be in school there when school resumes. I’m much more excited about that symbolic conclusion than I expected to be.
