The closing chapter

It offered to me tonight that morning knew the reason that he needed to write a condensed history from the records if the Nephites. He knew that it was because after him there would not be a people who would/could repent and preserve the records for another period of righteousness to come along. He was aware by then that by the time of his death there would not be a Nephite nation remaining. He probably didn’t know that there would be fewer than two dozen surviving Nephites at his death.
