1 Nephi 8: 25 – 30
When some people get to taste the fruit of the tree of life they then turn their attention to the things of the world. The world is symbolized by a great and spacious building – a symbol of materialism: making “things” take the place of God in your life is being worldly. The building is in the air probably as a result of the pride of the world. Worldly people lift themselves up above others because of their “things.” The people in that building mock those at the tree of life because they are not lifted up with pride to be with the world. The people who stayed at the tree were those who recognized, after they had tasted the fruit, that there was no joy that the world could afford them to surpass the joy from that fruit.
