Mitzi scare

If Mitzi does soon it will be at least partly my fault. I’ve noticed the last few weeks that she seems more frail and less lively. She doesn’t seem sick, just let energetic, like she is getting old (which she is). Today I didn’t notice that Alyssa had set her in my shoulder and as I was talking and gesturing she feel of my shoulder and onto the tile. She just lay there without moving. I only knew something happened because Savannah and Alyssa were looking on in shock.

I picked Mitzi up and held her as she last still and I noticed a bit of blood near her mouth. Alyssa left the room in tears and I honestly thought that Mitzi would die there in my hands. Thankfully after a minute or so see began licking my hand. Slowly she began moving more and more until she was walking around. Within 10 minutes she seemed no worse for wear – that doesn’t change the fact that I’m afraid she could take a turn for the worse.

I’ve checked on her a couple of times. She seems fine, waking up when I touch the shavings around her. If I don’t see her getting sluggish again I’ll feel safe by Monday.
