Keep to records

I have as assumed that Nephi kept one record from the time he left Jerusalem and then created the small plates after arriving in the promised land. I now realize that he didn’t begin even the large plates until her gas come to this land where they had one and were permitted to make as much fire as they needed. He had barely created the large plates when he was commanded to make their duplicate.
