When I got home from work the kids were in a contentious mood and Laura was done dealing with it. For example, Ezra ran away as soon as we got to the library. We grabbed dinner on the way home and then I took over. I made the kids sit still and pay attention as I talked about their behavior and my expectations. After dinner when they choose to play games I had outlawed I sent them directly to bed – starting that the only reason to come out was to work. Eventually Enoch (and soon after him, everyone else) decided that work was the better option. I had few problems as they pleasantly put all the laundry away – correctly. Later we had some issues with Isaac, Enoch, and Noah because I was giving Ezra some dedicated attention so that the others were unsupervised. We dealt with that and I feel it was a very successful evening even if it was off to a rocky start by the time I got in the van.
