Stretch run

The important news for today was that we all talked through breakfast about how to upgrade or family culture. I explained the need for a double standard at times – as demonstrated by “I the Lord will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men.” We then set out two standards of conduct:

  1. Assume good intent (always for the kids, but the double standard is that sometimes Mom and I will have to not assume good intent)
  2. Timely, direct feedback (call people out, kindly but clearly on infractions even while assuming good intent)

We’ve now made it through all but the last show of the girls’ play. I finally got to see it and it was phenomenal. I also managed to drive to Salt Lake and pick up our new couch. Ashley Furniture opted to replace the one that got ruined with Noah’s silly putty. If I can figure out how to get the ruined one downstairs I won’t have to think about stirring any more seating in that room. That’s a happy thought.
