Because the moving of the needles on the Liahona were small miracles the people forgot to think of them as miracles do that they stopped exercising faith to the point that the needles stopped working and they were driven back in their journey. That’s precisely where Laura is. She doesn’t see the hand of the Lord in preserving is from day to day. Instead she blames him that life is challenging and claims that she will not believe. As a result she is getting further and further from light and truth. She sees more and more of darkness – having old wounds brought freshly to mind. I’m starting to worry if she might decide to quit life rather than simply quitting our marriage.
