The defining feature of a righteous person is there innate desire to help those around them according to their talents and resources. Alma desires to preach to the world. Mother Theresa desired to reach out to the poor and improve their lives. It is what Joseph Smith said, that a righteous man want content to simply bless his family but would sell to bless everyone they could.
