Potential for destruction

I get the feeling that Mormon sees the possibility for the gentiles to be destroyed (at least in the promised land) by a remnant of the seed of Jacob if they do not repent in the later days, much like the Nephites were destroyed when they would no longer repent.

I don’t know if that was a “for sure” or a “could be” but certainly those of gentle descent who repent will be counted among the seed of Jacob to be preserved.
