It is clear that Zeezrom was accustomed to performing for an audience as he smoothly and Amulek to answer his questions then follows with a bribe instead of a question. He expected that the listeners would ignore his subterfuge in favor of supporting his performance. He didn’t anticipate that Amulek would recognize his performance for the sham it was.
