Lamoni had been taught that there was a Great Spirit but that nothing a man did was considered wrong. Despite this teachings, when Lamoni thought the Great Spirit was in his kingdom his first thought was to fear that he had done wrong. No matter what he had been taught he innately knew that if there was a supreme being there would also be an objective right and wrong to some or all actions.
