I wonder if Shiblon took charge of the affairs of the church to some degree while Helaman was leading the Ammonites in the war – or perhaps Shiblon was taking up arms in defense of his country as well. Helaman must have died relatively young because he died only 16 years after his father was translated – or perhaps Alma was woung when Helaman was born because Shiblon only outlived Helaman by 4 years. We know that Moroni died by the time he was 50 – he died 25 years after the Lamanites destroyed Ammonihah and Zoram was the leader of the Nephite armies when that happened and we know that Moroni started leading when he was 25.
