At the start of 2020 Alyssa was looking forward to the end of the year when she could say “hindsight is 2020.” Last night she reminded us of that aspiration about to come true. One of the first things i heard from her this morning was “some world leaders thought it was a bad idea to end 2020 because then 2021.” (2020 won – it only took me a few seconds.) After laughing with her over that I said, “I worry about next year because that’s 2022.” Alyssa laughed but some of the younger kids needed lots of explaining about “2020 too” before they understood.
Between some easy humor and the arrival of our second stimulus check this morning we are off to a great start to the new year. I’m happy to be done with that challenging year.
