Savannah was shocked this morning to get the notice that her mission calling was already made. We quickly arranged for a gathering at 7 tonight for her to open the call. She has been called to serve in the Brazil São Paulo South mission speaking Portuguese (naturally) and reporting to the Brazil MTC on June 9th.
I still can’t fully describe my feelings since hearing her call. Excitement certainly and pride at her willingness to serve. A bit of jealousy that she gets to leave the country. I think the feeling that undergirds everything else that I have been unable to fully pinpoint is profound gratitude to my Heavenly Father that we, and specifically Savannah, can be a part of the great work of salvation. I’m planning to study the temple prep material with Savannah as well as Portuguese to share a bit in her language experience.
