Teach, understand, and live.
Teach principles of the gospel
As we prepare we are taught by the Spirit.
Teaching the way Christ did revolves around telling stories very often (sometimes true, other times parables). Telling stories help make things memorable and relatable.
Of the short, three year, ministry of the savior only about 31 days are actually documented in the New Testament.
If you prepare your lesson early in the week it gives the Spirit time to teach you and give you time to implement things you have learned before you have to teach them.
The purpose of our teaching is to convert Elders to Christ.
Take time in your life to reflect on things: specifically things related to what you are teaching or things related to Christ.
Christ cared about this he taught and He knew them individually.
If students don’t learn to think for themselves they aren’t truly converted.
When we teach a powerful lesson tied to a memorable story the students will remember the lesson.
Sometimes it is more important to remind than to instruct.
We need to be looking to promote discussion and interaction during quorum meeting. That can start with the corps of instructors. It might include letting people know what lesson is coming up. It might also include inviting people to report on how the lessons have been applies or had an effect in your life.
“He that preacheth and he that receiveth understand one another and both are edified…”
