Mosiah 13 – 14
I had not realized that Abinadi prophesied that what they did would be a type or shadow of things to come before they sentenced him to death. The phrase that “the is no beauty that we should desire Him” could have been a clue to the Jews that the Savior would not come with the beauty of great political or military power but that his coming would be more subtle. This time he will come in power and make bare His arm in the eyes of the nations. How can a person make his grave with the wicked and with the wealthy (read honorable) at the same time? Christ was killed as a criminal but buried in the tomb of a wealthy and respectable man.
