My instincts is too say that I can’t imagine how Jeroboam could do quickly and completely turn his back on God after being given Israel or how the grocery from Judah could abandon his instructions or how the prophet in Israel would proactively trick the prophet from Israel. Clearly none of them was securely attached to the Lord. The prophet from Israel seemed weakly committed but the others only felt incidentally attached to God at best. Having said that, I watch as people in this day abandon the principles being clearly articulated by the servants of the Lord in favor of their own political doctrines—we are as fickle as the children of Israel in the Old Testament.
