I am fascinated by Ahab because the Lord was generous with him in spring him signs and yet he went his own way. On the other hand, when the Lord condemned Ahab for his wickedness he humbled himself to the point that his punishment was delayed for one generation. I guess he serves as a reminder that nobody is purely evil and everyone has some opportunity for redemption.
