How people identify themselves tells others a lot about them. It is instructive even if their self-identification isn’t accurate. Considering that, I find it very interesting that Christ identifies himself as “I am He who liveth; I am He who was slain,” this making His Atonement as central to His concept of His identity. Even not than that, He identifies Himself as “I am your advocate with the Father.” This tells us that speaking on our behalf to make individual intercession for us with the Father who cannot condone any degree of sin. If He identifies as our advocate then it would be considered a failure on His party of He failed to be the best advocate we could have.
