1 Nephi 9 – 10
I wonder if any of this preaching and prophesying was even understood by Laman and Lemuel or if their hearts were too hard for that. This preaching of scattering and gathering using the image of the olive tree is much like Zenos’ allegory of the olive tree that Jacob recorded. I’ll bet that Lehi shared that story many times considering that Jacob was probably too young now (if he had even been born yet) to remember it. It was a powerful story for Nephi because it was after all this preaching that he went and inquired of the Lord that he might know for himself.
