It struck me differently tonight that the reason Moroni asks the reader to think on how merciful the Lord hath been to the children of men is less to say “look how the Lord has been involved in the affairs of mankind” and more to say “please notice this defining trait of your Father in Heaven so that you may choose to trust Him.”
