Lessons from the story about cheetahs and topis:
- Brother Hardman
- Distance matters – we can’t outrun a cheetah, we can only try to keep enough distance away from them.
- Me
- Cheetahs win if they miss 99% of the topis they hunt. Topis lose if they escape 99% of the cheetahs who hunt them.
- When it comes to proactive choices – things we are pursuing – we are cheetahs, we don’t have to win at everything we try.
- When it comes to temptations – things we are trying to avoid – we are topis, we want to ensure that we avoid all of them (don’t make exceptions).
- We must work together. We can’t be vigilant 100% of the time, sometimes we must be among those stopping to eat while others are looking out.
- Cheetahs win if they miss 99% of the topis they hunt. Topis lose if they escape 99% of the cheetahs who hunt them.
