Comforting Truths

Heavenly Father sat down with us as His children and went over the pros and cons of the plan of salvation. We each chose mortality with full knowledge of the cons in the plan of salvation. (We clearly each concluded that the pros outweighed the cons.)

The challenges you have now were not a surprise to you.

You are not in competition with anyone else in life except yourself.

If we are our biggest opponent then perhaps that should teach us to bring our opponents over to our side rather than trying to beat them.

I love how President Livingston acknowledged not only that some people are facing very difficult challenges but also that despite those he is aware of, he knows there are others he is not aware of. For those who are holding struggles close to the vest that acknowledgement that he knows he doesn’t know all of them would be very affirming and comforting. It would make him accessible if they feel the need to call upon him.

When you spiritually stretch for Christ beyond anything you have done before His power will be available to you.
