We also need to be mindful of what we are called upon to do. For example, as parents we aren’t called to raise children perfectly or to have them come out successful. What we are called to do is put forth all our efforts to help those children. We are responsible for what we do with our stewardships, not for what they do with our efforts.

Brother Bateman said we don’t know what this calling will mean for us in the future. “We don’t see what the results will be of this honing process.”

I love that terminology of a honing process. It isn’t always comfortable but it makes us into the tool that the Lord needs is to be—if we let it.

Sister Julie Smith was teaching but I just loved the way that Brother Smith supported her like a team member. I don’t know how much they tag teamed in preparation but during the lesson he actively managed the board without being asked. It was cool to watch.
