When Israel was facing two nations in league together seeking to set up a puppet government for Israel the Lord said “fear not” and his reasoning was that within 65 years it wouldn’t matter because both kingdoms would be overrun by Assyria then. To men, 65 years is a long time and they would be inclined to pay great attention to the two conspiring kingdoms and deal with Assyria later. It makes me wonder about the Lord’s perspective on current events like the Russian war against Ukraine or the civil unrest within the United States. Did the Lord see the unity in 2001 and think that His children were celebrating it too much knowing that it would not last?
His perspective is more valuable than our small understanding.
