Ezra borrowed Laura’s phone to entertain himself for a few minutes during sacrament meeting. What he did to entertain himself was to draw a rendition of our new family flag from memory—obviously we have something he connects with. Later Emma also drew a nice rendition. After church Isaac also created a rendition of the family flag for the nose art on his video-game plane.
President DeMille told about being taught as a young man about praying “on your knees or on your feet but never on your seat.” I like that he acknowledged that there are times when it makes sense to pray sitting even as he explained why we should generally pray standing for meetings and kneeling in private. I liked that he illustrated the place of nuance.
Priesthood
Focus is the difference between success and failure. If we focus on what we don’t want that is generally what we will get. We need to focus on what we do want. How can we focus on what we do want from the kids rather than what we don’t want?
