3 Nephi 19
There were 2500 people at Jesus’ initial arrival. His visit was short enough that they were spreading word after He left but before dark. By the next day, there were many more people there to meet Him and to learn of Him. My goal is not to be one of those who is gathered in, but to be one of those who is ready and waiting upon His first arrival.

As I read the list of the 12 disciples there are two whom I am confident were among the three Nephites and the third I would guess with a bit less confidence.

When the disciples divided the people into twelve groups and had them pray before ministering to them, I wonder if the disciples were leading them in prayer (I know the disciples were praying) in the way that the Savior had showed the day before. (I believe they did – that is the true order of prayer and leads to the unity that they were seeking for so special a day.) They had time to repeat all that Jesus had taught the day before and to baptize the disciples before Jesus came on the second day. This suggests that His visit, with all the teachings, healings, sacrament etc, only lasted for a few hours on that first day. It was because Nephi had been called “out of the world” as a disciple (and the other disciples as well) that none of the disciples were charged with keeping the record of the Nephites. Later disciples, such as Mormon and Moroni were apart from their world but they were witnessing a time when none other could be entrusted with keeping a spiritual record.

So far on this second day Christ has not ministered directly to the people – he has allowed his disciples to do the direct ministering.
