Modish changed the minds if his people so that they no longer desired a king. He did this not by declaring that it would be so but by exposing why it was desirable—that is how to make change in a free society. If course that was only possible because the people were willing to listen to his arguments and consider what he presented. If they were going to reject his words out of hand like so many do in our modern politics it would not have worked.
