Helaman 16
As the signs become more obvious among the people (approaching the fulfilling of the prophecies of the coming of Christ) all but the most believing of the people will continue to become more hardened – despite the showing of such great signs in the sight of all people. The people will be under greater condemnation for disbelieving in the face of such wonders.
It is interesting to read their words as the people take these signs and prophecies as means by the leaders of the church to keep the people in bondage. Today I have heard the very same purposes ascribed to the leaders of our church by those who would rather not believe their words (both in and out of the church).
