P-day. Jim Jarvis took our district out to the Garden of the Gods. It is outside mission boundaries. We had a great day hiking. After we got back we had an appointment with William Wyatt. He is 9 and was previously committed to be baptized but he wanted his dad to do it and his dad isn’t worthy. At this discussion he decided to be baptized this Sunday by Elder Baird. Willy is very enthusiastic. We are planning the service in the next couple of days.
Reading the Book of Mormon went late tonight.
I’m surprised that we went outside the mission boundaries and I didn’t even comment on whether that was authorized. Considering the missionaries in that district and Jim Jarvis it seems likely that it was but as new as I was I don’t know if I would have known any better either way. Also, I had completely forgotten about Willy Wyatt. Nobody who has ever heard me talk about my mission has likely ever heard about him or about a baptism right at the start of my mission. I know I have never counted his baptism in my memory as part of my mission.
