It often amazes me that the Lord allows the people to declare His truth even in their moments of wickedness. The first challenge that the people of Ammonihah gave to Alma was to declare that they would not believe one man even if he were to declare wondrous things such as the passing away of the earth or the destruction of their great city in a single day. They declared this in their pride, but the Lord had already declared that the earth would one day pass away and He had sent two servants to testify to these people that – among other things – their city should be destroyed (and when it was destroyed it was done in a single day).
