It has been several years since I have read in Lamentations and it has never really made any sense to me before. This time I feel like I can understand the sentiments of sorrow and feeling utterly forsaken and bereft. I wonder if it is necessary to experience those things in some form to fully gain empathy for our fellow men and the travails of Christ.
