I wonder, by gathering his people for a final battle, what morning saved (or what he expected to accomplish). Did he save some misery by preventing years of smaller battles? Did he save the lives of many Lamanites who came in one crushing army instead of many smaller skirmishes? Did he save some innocence by giving time for people to peacefully father rather than perpetually running just outside the reach of their evenings until they were finally vanquished?
