Promote was that “whoso believeth Christ, doubting nothing,” could receive whatever they asked for. It is instructive to consider that whoso believeth in Christ would not ask anything to consume it on their lusts. They would ask for things such as the strength to not give in to temptation. That’s not too say that they would never ask for anything more temporal than that but to recognize that they could receive whatever they asked for but that does not mean that they would ask for just anything.
