The first choice for the people of Limhi was to liberate themselves and remain in the land. I wonder why that is. My first option would always have been to leave the place of my captivity. Even when they thought that the people of Zerahemla were destroyed I would have thought that it would be better to leave and find a place that was uninhabited and start building a life and a people without being surrounded by the Lamanites
