Mosiah 2
As I was reading this I wondered why the people would have need to go through the mighty change of heart during this conference considering that they were already a righteous people. Then it occurred to me that their history of righteousness (ever since Benjamin succeeded in rooting out wickedness among them) is what prepared them for this experience. I also realized that this experience was probably similar to what what promised to the Children of Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai, which they accepted and then rejected. They could have had the name of Christ given to them and become a more covenant people, rather than simply children of the covenant.
