Moroni made use of all his men with each playing a specific part and none interested in trying to win the battle on their own. Teancum led the Lamanite army to the army of Lehi. Lehi made sure not to engage the Lamanites until they were met by the army of Moroni. Lehi and Moroni were successful because they had minimized their exertions while getting the Lamanites to march all over the land before engaging in battle.
