Laura and I had an interesting time at the Newport family webinar this evening. It’s clear that a good number of the families with kids there are dealing with kids doing more actively harmful stuff than Alex. He was dysfunctional and angry with maladaptive behaviors, disregulated emotions, and unstable friends when compared to other kids engaging in serious self harm and/or substance abuse.
They introduced us to a quiz measuring codependent behaviors. It was interesting to see my scores: I don’t high for codependence but most of the scores I did get were from the compliant segment of behaviors.
