At 10:10 this morning I got a call saying that Alex had tested positive for COVID and would be isolating in his room for the next 5 days. At 10:45 the family therapist called to ask that since he would just be quarantined between now and Saturday could I come pick him up today. Conveniently I was at a meeting in Park City so it was a much shorter drive than if I had been home or at work. At the end of my meeting I went to pick him up and then I worked from home for the remainder of the work day.
This means that Alex has no reason to ask why I didn’t give him any notice that his time there was coming to an end.
