I have long believed that if you are generally unhealthy (overweight, out of shape, that kind of thing) you are probably not getting enough of one or more of water, exercise, or sleep. The solutions are to establish small habits that will help you do those seemingly inconsequential things to get your health in balance. I’m trying to do those things by making a point to drink more, tracking my activity, trying to be active every hour (and thinking about going to every half hour), and getting to bed earlier. I’m also trying to add other activities to keep myself busy to minimize my screen time: working to patch holes in the walls, reading a book (not in my phone), and working on other goals so that I don’t default to my phone (whether it’s games, scrolling social media/news, or videos). It feels like it’s going to take ongoing persistence for quite a while before I am naturally graduating towards healthy habits and seeing results—although I think it will get easier when the weather turns to spring.
