For all the significance that building the ship was for enabling these people to get to the promised land I was surprised to realize today that there were only 4 verses written about it in this record. The key points of that scant record being that 1) Nephi received instructions bit by bit over time about how to accomplish the task; 2) Nephi was also drawing closer personally to the Lord and learning much spiritually during that time; and 3) everyone recognized when the ship was finished that it was well constructed for it’s purpose.
